Hedgehog`s home
Branko Ćopić’s rhymed tale is one of the few stories that almost every Croatian child knows almost by heart. The Hedgehog is invited by the Fox for dinner, but refuses to stay the night because he prefers his humble home to her luxurious household. On his way home, he encounters the Bear, the Wolf and the Boar, who fail to understand his love of his home and come to believe that he lives in a rich palace. The wild beasts will be disappointed to discover that it really is the Hedgehog’s love that makes his home a palace and the children will learn the value of loving what one has.
