The Three Musketeers
Exactly 180 years have passed since the publication of the popular novel by Alexandre Dumas about four brave members of the King's Guard. When it comes to a classic that equally arouses the curiosity of all generations, we can't help but wonder what is so timeless and exciting about that tense story? The plot of Dumas' novel is very complex. France and England are on the brink of war, court intrigues in the struggle for power cause armed clashes between the king's musketeers and the cardinal's guard, love may lead to a coup d'état… The original plot spans almost 600 pages of the novel and for the purposes of our puppet production, it has been reduced to what even the youngest audience can understand. It is the power of unity and faith in the possibility of peace in those turbulent times that are comparable to today precisely at the level where private interests decide the fate and well-being of entire nations. In order to bring it closer to children, this great story is told through the eyes of the one who has yet to become a musketeer, the young D'Artagnan. He is still a boy, hot-blooded, insanely brave, full of dreams, an excellent swordsman, but completely inexperienced in matters of complex interpersonal relations of the corrupt environment in which he finds himself. Athos, Porthos and Aramis, three hardened musketeers, will recognize in him their old ardor, which will rekindle the somewhat extinguished flame of their former ideals. All for one and one for all!
