After first years spent with her grandfather in the idyllic Swiss Alps, little Heidi goes to Frankfurt to live with a rich family and to keep the little girl Klara company, because Klara is tied to a wheelchair. After she falls ill, she returns to her grandfather and recovers. Klara will soon visit her, and the fresh air, country food and Heidi's loyalty will help her miraculously recover and walk.
