Aesop's collage

Aesop's fables are as relevant today as they were two and a half millennia ago, because they speak about eternal human virtues and flaws wrapped, of course, in animal clothing. In this adaptation, the fables are arranged in the form of a cabaret in which the Cricket and the Ant are the masters of ceremony and their story forms the framework for other fables. The cabaret form made it possible to use various animation techniques that change from fable to fable, and each puppet technique reflects the lesson of the fable and the character of the animal that features in it. The author of the puppets and scenography is the respected visual artist and film director Milan Trenc, based on whose work the world-famous film series Night in the Museum was created, and his unique concept in this cabaret opened up the possibility for a creative cooperation of puppeteers, puppets and scenography.
